# Join a shift

> Sign up for a shift from the Shifts page.

Join a shift to put your name on the rota for that service. Anyone on the team can join a shift until the shift is full.

  <Step title="Open Shifts">
    Tap **Shifts** in the bottom navigation bar.

  <Step title="Find the shift you want">
    Shifts are listed by Sunday, one card for each service. Scroll down to see the rest of the month.

    To go to another month, tap the month or year at the top of the list, or tap the left and right arrows.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tap Join">
    Tap **Join** at the bottom of the shift card. The button shows **Joining...** while your place is saved.

## What happens next

* A message at the top of the screen says "You successfully joined the shift!"
* Your name appears under **Assigned** on the shift card.
* The **Join** button changes to **Leave**. If you can no longer make it, see [Leave a shift](/shifts/leave-a-shift).

## Common problems

### There's no Join button

* **The card says Shift Full:** this shift has as many people as it can take. Choose another Sunday.
* **The card shows Leave:** you're already on this shift.

### You see "Failed to join shift"

Check your internet connection and tap **Join** again. If it keeps happening, ask an admin to check that you're set up on the team.
